Fans eager for the next chapter in the blockbuster Venom saga can mark their calendars: Sony Pictures has unveiled the official title for the third installment – “Venom: The Last Dance” – and shifted the release date up to October 25, 2024, a welcome surprise from the initial November 8th slot.
While plot details remain shrouded in secrecy, the film promises the thunderous return of Tom Hardy as the enigmatic Eddie Brock/Venom. Joining him on screen are rising star Juno Temple and the ever-impressive Chiwetel Ejiofor alongside Clark Backo.
Behind the camera, Kelly Marcel takes the reins for her directorial debut, wielding a script she co-developed with Hardy himself. A powerhouse production team bolsters the project, including Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal, and the duo of Marcel and Hardy themselves serving as producers.
The “Venom” franchise has been a box office juggernaut, with the first two films (2018’s “Venom” and 2021’s sequel “Let There Be Carnage”) raking in a combined $1.3 billion globally. The upcoming film marks Venom’s first solo outing since his electrifying cameo in 2021’s record-breaking “Spider-Man: No Way Home.”
Just last month, Juno Temple offered a tantalizing glimpse into the project, hinting at the film’s near completion in an interview with Variety. “We’re almost there,” she revealed, building enthusiasm. “It’s been an amazing experience, a whole new world for me. Big sets, incredible people – I feel incredibly fortunate.”
Production for “Venom: The Last Dance” did encounter a brief pause due to the SAG-AFTRA strike last year, but cameras resumed rolling in late November.
The film, a product of Columbia Pictures, is confirmed to hit theaters in premium large formats and IMAX, promising a visually stunning experience for fans eager to witness the explosive conclusion (or is it?) of Eddie Brock’s complex relationship with the symbiotic alien entity.
