Giabts RB Saquon Barkley could return in Week 4

New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley is a game-time decision for Monday night’s game against the Seattle Seahawks, according to head coach Brian Daboll. Barkley missed last week’s game due to the high ankle sprain he suffered in Week 2, but the extra time coming off a Thursday game appears to have helped his cause for a quick return.

Barkley has had 114 rushing yards on 29 carries and 41 receiving yards on 6 catches with 2 total touchdowns so far this season. Barkley could play a key role in helping the Giants rebound from their 30-12 loss to the 49ers in Week 3. New York put up just 150 total net yards against San Francisco’s all-world defense, 29 of which came on the ground.

Giants will be without left tackle Andrew Thomas

Although the prospect of Barkley’s return appears to be improving entering Week 4, the Giants’ offensive line won’t have left tackle Andrew Thomas for the third consecutive week. Daboll has ruled out Thomas for Monday night against the Seahawks and the left tackle is considered week to week going forward.

Thomas has struggled with injuries throughout his career and has missed 17 games in the past two seasons. His absence will be a big loss for the Giants’ offense, which is trying to find itself after a slow start to the season.

Barkley could be the key to the Giants’ success

Barkley is one of the Giants’ most dangerous offensive weapons and his return could give the team a significant boost in its offensive capabilities. Barkley is a dual threat, capable of hurting opponents both on the ground and through the air.
